Last month in September 2020 Central Australian and Remote Program Delivery Office staff undertook tenant consultations in Kaltukatjara as part of the remote housing Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes. remote housing investment package.
Kaltukatjara, also known as Docker River, is located in the far south western corner of the NT, 7km east of the WA border in the Petermann Ranges.
Through the Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes. investment a total of 26 new homes have been approved under the HomeBuild initiative with two currently under construction and a further three homes have been approved for extensions under the Room to Breathe initiative.
The department has undertaken significant consultation with the residents of Kaltukatjara in accordance with local decision making principles. Individual households have the opportunity to select the design, colour and orientation of their homes.
