On March 2019 the Northern Territory and Australian governments signed the National Partnership for Remote Housing NT, securing $550 million in Australian Government funding from 1 July 2018 – 30 June 2023. Funding has recently been extended to 30 June 2024.
The National Partnership funding is being delivered using the principles of Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes, including the Northern Territory Government’s local decision making and procurement policies.
The National Partnership is overseen by a Joint Steering Committee consisting of representatives from:
- Australian Government
- Northern Territory Government
- Northern Land Council
- Central Land Council
- Tiwi Land Council
- Anindilyakwa Land Council
- Aboriginal Housing NT.
The governance of the program is supported by a suite of Frameworks, to ensure effective program management and support ethical and transparent decision making.
