Residents in the community of Bulla are excited to be receiving three new homes as part of the $1.1 billion remote housing investment program Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes. and the opportunities this project will bring.
Throughout the construction process, opportunities for local Aboriginal employment will be identified, including training and finding work through work-skill development pathways.
Traditional owner Shadrack Retchford said he is looking forward to working with the department through the local decision making process.
“Big opportunity, people can hopefully upgrade on their skills do training working on houses.
We just have to keep working together, make our community more safer through more housing, stop overcrowding in the Northern Territory,” he said.
